As previously reported, Eversource finally allowed J.F. Lynch to complete the Mass. Ave. sidewalks in East Arlington by shifting the cables from an old utility pole to a new one in Capitol Square.

Alert Arlingtonian Aileen G.-P. kindly provided photos of the event, in an email under a subject line that I have borrowed as the title of this post.

Utility workers set up in Capital Square on September 29. The unfilled segments had been filled with asphalt since last summer.

Eversource had been asked to complete this work by July of 2015, when Lynch was pouring the sidewalks in East Arlington.

An old utility pole across from Lake Street was the final sticking point. The utility moved the cables to a new pole on September 29.

After that, the old pole came down and Lynch quickly began pouring the missing sidewalk segments. Looks like they finished last week.

Thanks for the photos, Aileen!

Not that there will be much more of it, but click here for recent construction news.
