Night work now playing

It may not be Town Day fireworks, but as night displays go the action on Mass. Ave. right now is not without interest.

This truck spreads fire and smoke earlier this evening on Mass. Ave.

There is shadow, there is fog, there is sturm, there is drang, and it is also a fine evening to be outside.

Playing exclusively tonight and tomorrow. At least until the next installment (see what I did there?), but since that won’t include the Flaming Rubber Layer it probably won’t be as interesting.

I just returned from there and will try to write it up a day or two, but by that time it the show will be over.

Honestly, if you can get out the East Arlington without driving on Mass. Ave. (you really do not want to do that), and stay safely on the sidewalk, it’s worth a rubberneck or two.

I just saw the liquid and first aggregate layers go down. Wow, bump outs are a hassle for putting down asphalt even more than driving, bicycling, and plowing snow! They had to do a full stop and carefully put down both the liquid and black aggregate around them with lots of hand squeegee and broom work too.

I’m glad they are getting it right! Some would say that is the point.
