The John Deere has landed

This is what moved into the construction staging area on Grafton St. earlier today:

This backhoe loader will do the digging for the next year.

This backhoe loader (waiting at Grafton St. staging area on July 22) will do the digging for the next year.

It’s a John Deere 710D backhoe loader tractor, basically an all-purpose digging and earth-moving machine.

There’s also a new pile in the staging area of some sort of fill detritus that is probably from the catch-basin clean-out.

Assuming the tree work is done, I think the noise and the dust are about to start!

Keep your eyes peeled, this week and next.

Update: Note that the above earth mover is different from the smaller equipment that could be seen on Mass. Ave. on July 23.

That backhoe loader, a John Deere 320J, was working on a National Grid project that is at least partly on private property (at left).
